Shetland can be exciting throughout the seasons with a little care to ensure you are not putting yourself at risk from the elements or terrain.


During November Angéla and I took some time off to explore different locations around Shetland. One of the highlights was Roesand near Eshaness.This area although very close to the main road is hidden from sight. The best place to park is at the top of the road in a lay-by. From here you follow the small burn down to the sea, as you walk further the burn opens into a large crevice and then into to a cascading small waterfall which if navigated carefully will take you to spectacular scenery and a world class view of the Roesand beach below.

The weather closed in the afternoon and as we headed back the heavens opened with a heavy downpour. Luckily the car was parked not too far away and we were able to dry off and grab some lunch before heading off to plan our next mini adventure.
